Ok, so we went out for a long time, and I put all my heart, but in the end she figures it would be better for her to be "unique" in any case I think I loved him for many, but I'm tired of sore heart and I just want on it, so any advice?

Heart Ache/Dethroned $12.78 This pairing of Justin K. Broadrick’s Jesu releases offers an excellent way to look at the evolution of a project. Broadrick was — arguably anyway — the man who brought shoegaze music into doomy, sludgy, turtle-paced metal via the first two 20-minute cuts found here, the long out of print Heart Ache EP. The latter of these tracks begins with a solo acoustic piano, but becomes something wholly other midway through. these tracks offer both malevolence and vulnerability. The four new tracks that make up the Dethroned EP were begun in 2004 but finished in 2010. They offer a heavier, slightly faster metallic crunch that draws on not only shoegaze, but post-punk as well. The best of these cuts, “Annul,” pumps out a steady, two-chord power riff that touches on Killing Joke’s earliest material. “Aureated Skin” contains flowing melody both in Broadrick’s voice and open-tuned chords and plodding, drums that underscore the sheer melancholy that has become Jesu’s trademark. The post-metal “I Can Only Disappoint You,” uses dissonance and a much more present vocal mix (Broadrick sounds strangely similar to Robert Wyatt here), backwards tape manipulation, undistorted single-string guitar and bass runs, as well as beautifully tempered atmospheric keyboards that suggest melody even when it’s not present. What the Dethroned half of this nearly 70-minute set reveals is that Jesu is still breaking new ground. Proclaimed by Cash and her husband/producer/collaborator, Rodney Crowell, as “punktry,” the album adds an entirely new twist on the Nashville sound. Perhaps it is because this is L.A. country and reflects the cocaine bliss sound of the era as well as Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk does. Utilizing everything from synthesizers and rock arrangements to pop ballad-styled charts and plenty of attitude, Seven Year Ache yielded three number one singles and songs by rock musicians such as Tom Petty and singer/songwriters like Keith Sykes and Steve Forbert. Of the singles, Cash penned two; the title track, which is a sorrowful indictment of her husband’s philandering ways, and the shattering ballad “Blue Moon With Heartache.” The third, the smash “My Baby Thinks He’s a Train,” was written by Asleep at the Wheel’s Leroy Preston. Musically, the band included many of the same players from the Right or Wrong sessions, with the emerging vocal talent of former Pure Prairie League member Vince Gill. Forbert’s “What Kinda Girl” is almost rockabilly in its shuffling intensity and punk bravado. It dares the listener to define the protagonist just to shatter the preconception. There’s also a nod to tradition here in Cash’s beautifully updated read of the Merle Haggard/Red Simpson nugget “You Don’t Have Very Far to Go,” complete with whinnying pedal steels and a honky tonk backbeat. In “My Baby Thinks He’s a Train,” Cash and Crowell very consciously offer a new generation interpretation of dad Johnny’s sound. This rocks harder yet is smooth as silk and full of that desolate want Johnny offered in his delivery. But unlike her father’s, this isn’t a forlorn yearning want, it’s a pissed off anthemic want. For the ambulance chasers, this record with its songs of infidelity and broken promises may indeed be the first crack in a marriage and collaboration that ended a decade later. The tempo borrows the old Tennessee Three rhythm, but sped up into the stratosphere, with a shifting Western swing line near the refrain. A Killer for That Ache $14.38 2008 release from Norwegian singer and songwriter Hilde Marie Kjersem. A Killer For That Ache can be called a concept album of sorts, in the way that Kjersem sets out to comment elements of the media by stepping into various disguises and characters using comments, facts, lies, repetitions, assumptions, exaggerations, humor, irony and absurd observations on things that might have happened, never happened and never will. Not surprisingly, the result is an eclectic selection of songs that we don’t even want to try to describe. Let’s just say it’s Pop music with a twist, quite a few twists come to think of it, making it a dramatic, beautiful, mysterious, seductive, intricate and quite simply different sounding and fascinating musical ride.
