fastest way letters to get him back

Is there a method or a product that actually WORKS to get a dog to stop barking?
Our dogs are 5 & 8 years old now. At our old house they stayed in the garage at night & the back yard during the day. They did bark a bit, but I was at home all the time so I could keep them down…
Now, we just bought a house & there is no garage & the fence needs repairs. So, they’re outside in a decent size pen 24/7. One dog barks way more than the other so we got him one of those ZAP collars, it doesn’t work.
I got a letter from my city yesterday that my dog barking is creating a disturbance in the neighbourhood… We need to fix this fast, or find a new home for the dogs – we don’t want to give them up!!
Anything work for you? I can’t keep wasting $100 to keep trying different products… Thanks =)
If you are using an electric collar that must be manually activated, you cannot make accurate corrections, and the dogs will not learn to stop barking.
If you have a collar that activates when the dog barks, the dog still needs to learn what the correction means, it may take a while. A bark collar will work only if used properly. It must be VERY snug, high on the dogs neck, as close to the jaw as possible without strangling the dog.
You should experiment with the correction level to make sure that the correction is high enough to discourage the dog from barking.
I use a tri-tronics model, and it is very effective. My dogs know when it is on, and they do not bark.
There are other alternatives:
1) There are devices that you can put up that emits an ultrasonic sound (that only dogs can hear) when the dogs bark. The sound is supposed to distract them and change the behavior. Check out Bill Boatman’s in Ohio.
2) You could put them in crates in your basement during the day while your are gone. They may still bark, but they won’t be as easily heard, and eventually they will calm down in their crates, and feel more secure. Part of their barking is insecurity, plus, it is also nice to have your pets in the house.
Best of luck. I hope you find an effective method so that you can keep your dogs.

This Way $21.59 Myron Walden is what you could call an obscure jazz musician; and since most jazz musicians are fundamentally obscure (when viewed within the context of popular music), then that makes Walden almost an unknown. This is a shame. In an age where Billboard artists lament the fact that the current consumer market has made gold sales the new platinum, an artist like Walden is fortunate to sale five percent of that. Even jazz heads sleep on him, despite a string of more than solid work as a leader and sideman for the past ten years. What people are missing is a young alto player who writes and solos without pretense. This Way is Walden’s fourth album. It’s a mean, dead serious, eight-tune set, totally void of any preening or jazz clichés. This album is what you get when a group of young talents put their game faces on, start the proverbial reel and get busy. Walden even told the piano player to stay home, leaving him, Jimmy Greene’s beefy-toned tenor, Vicente Archer thumping heavy on yet another album, and E.J. Strickland flying on drums. Walden also didn’t feel it necessary to throw in an obligatory ballad. The album’s lone slow number (“Too Far to Turn Back”) slowly marches and lurks like the soundtrack for a fleet of soldiers approaching battle. The rest of This Way takes turns getting slick (“Right Here”), nasty (“What Goes Up Must Come Down”), and hard-swinging (“Like I See It”). At all times it is unyielding, brash and really good. ~ Vincent Thomas, Rovi Performers: E.J. Strickland – Drums; Jimmy Greene – Sax (Tenor); Myron Walden – Sax (Alto); Vicente Archer – Bass |

Once he understood the reality, truth, and sufficiency of scripture, he stopped asking the world to look at him and started asking them to listen to their Savior. This is a story of awakening. World’s Fastest Indian [WS] – Widescreen $12.99 Includes:Offerings to the God of Speed (1971) The World’s Fastest Indian (2005), MPAA Rating: PG-13 Offerings to the God of Speed No synopsis available. The World’s Fastest Indian The true story of a man who never gave up on his dreams of doing something big — and doing it very, very fast — provides the basis for this engaging comedy drama. Burt Munro (Anthony Hopkins) was born in 1899 in Invercargill, New Zealand. From childhood, Munro had a passion for machines that moved fast, and when he was 21 he bought his first motorcycle, an Indian model with a 600 cc engine. Motorcycles became an obsession that stayed with Munro for the rest of his life, as he constantly tinkered with his beloved Indian machine, modifying the engine and frame, determined to see just how fast he could make it run. In 1967, Munro decided it was high time he proved to himself and the world just what he and his machine could do, and he booked passage for the United States, with the goal of breaking the world’s land speed record at Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats. As Munro made his way across America to Utah, he discovered not everyone took his dream seriously, but some did, and he made a handful of friends along the way, including Ada (Diane Ladd), a widow who fell for Munro’s rough charm, and Fernando (Paul Rodriguez), a car dealer who offered to help him. However, when he finally arrived at Bonneville, Munro was told his machine was unsafe to participate in the time trials, and — far worse — he was too old to ride. It took some intervention from a ranking American driver, Jim Moffett (Chris Lawford), before Munro was given his chance to ride the famous Salt Flats. The World’s Fastest Indian was written and directed by Roger Donaldson, who early in his career made a documentary about the real Burt Munro, Offerings to the Gods of Speed. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |

Get Back Home $14.98 John Lee Hooker’s greatness lies in his ability to perform the same songs the same way yet somehow sound different and memorable in the process. He operates at maximum efficiency in minimal surroundings with little production or assistance. That was the case on a 1969 session for Black and Blue; it was just Hooker and his guitar moaning, wailing, and narrating on 10 tracks which included familiar ditties “Boogie Chillen,” “Love Affair,” “Big Boss Lady,” and “Cold Chills.” Evidence has now not only reissued these 10 but has added another six bonus cuts, bringing the CD total to 16. If you have ever heard any Hooker, you will not be surprised or stunned by these renditions; you will simply enjoy hearing him rework them one more time, finding a new word, phrase, line, or riff to inject. ~ Ron Wynn, Rovi Performers: John Lee Hooker – Vocals, Guitar |

Get Way Back: The 1950s Recordings $14.98 Before he finally had his first big hit in the mid-’60s with “Hold What You’ve Got,” Joe Tex had recorded for a good decade, the singles he issued during that time largely remaining known only to committed collectors. As obscure as the songs he recorded for Dial between 1961 and 1964 (all now available on the CD compilation First on the Dial) are, the material he did prior to 1961 is yet more seldom heard. Much of it’s on Get Way Back: The 1950s Recordings, which collects 27 tracks he recorded between 1955 and 1960 for the King and Ace labels, none of which were hits. It says something for both Tex’s talent and perseverance that he was able to issue so much material without making a commercial impact, but it also says something about the derivative nature of that material. While Joe was already an adept singer at this early stage, the songs are just average snapshots of the time (on the earliest sides) when rhythm & blues was on the cusp of changing into rock & roll, or early rock & roll with hints of soul music (on the later cuts). You could imagine fellow King artist James Brown singing some of these tunes in his earliest years, albeit with greater distinction (as Brown indeed did with Tex’s 1959 single “Baby You’re Right”). It’s also undeniable that Tex simply had yet to establish his own identity, as some of the tracks are quite imitative of Little Richard, Sam Cooke, and the Coasters (even to the point of attempting an “answer” record to the Coasters’ hit “Charlie Brown” on “Charlie Brown Got Expelled”). A lot of labels and artists, of course, were trying to imitate hit formulas in the early days of rock & roll. But in Tex’s case this can’t be solely attributed to pushes he might have gotten in that direction from King or Ace, as much of the material was penned by Joe himself (including the “Fever” soundalike “Pneumonia,” though Tex claimed he actually wrote “Fever” itself). In all, this collection is primarily recommended to serious Tex fans who are interested in hearing his rarest and deepest roots as a recording artist, as on its own terms it’s merely competent mid- to late-’50s R&B and rock & roll. Note that three of these tracks are 1955-1957 King recordings with 1965 female backing vocal overdubs, though those overdubs actually fit in pretty well. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi |
