Your emotions have three main functions: —

1. Warning you of danger
2. You grow take action

Much of the pain during a failure is caused by obsessive thoughts about your relationship and what went wrong. People seem to think that they can give meaning to the situation, they stop feeling so bad. They can also delude itself into believing that if they can understand what they did wrong, they can solve their relationship problems.

Simply ask questions that have no logical answer sends your brain into overload and it reacts in the face stress. Your recovery of heartache will not start until you stop looking for logical explanations to your former partner emotional and illogical actions. There is no logical answer and the more you look the more you suffer. When you reach the point where trying to save a relationship is damaging your health then it is time to walk.

The pain of walking away will be much more ephemeral than the battle continues with / ex-partner. Your emotions convey a message that requires you to take action, ignoring your emotions will result in more pain. Â
